Kate O'Day | April 14
This Sunday, movement artist and choreographer Kate O’Day will present her first Racer Session. Kate is an active member of the creative community in Seattle who often will create or participate in works that are multidisciplinary and walk the line between dance performance and music performance, and has also frequently participated in the Racer Sessions as a physical improvisor.
Read on for more words from Kate for her presentation, which will take place this Sunday at 8pm! Session to follow, as always.
“Ever had your heart broken? Ever felt small against the backdrop of the magnificent sky/ocean? I have. For this session I am exploring something I have been totally obsessed with for many years: teenage angst, and the ways it can be agonizing and hilarious at the same time.
In the words of me at 15:
“On one hand, you’re suffocating. On the other hand, at least you’re very warm.”
This session may include:
-metaphorical tearstained letters
-not so metaphorical tearstained letters
-some dance moves
Bring your dancing gear (aka yourself), bring your dates, bring your sheep. See you there.
