Racer Session #313 | Janet Feder | February 28, 2016

This Sunday guitarist and composer Janet Feder of Denver, CO will present at the Racer Sessions, joined by longtime Racer participants Jen Gilleran (drums, etc.) Chris Icasiano (drums) and Neil Welch (saxophones). Below are a few words from Janet:

"The inner perceptions of sound and shape have been inextricably linked for my entire life, not only in “music” but in …. everything.  For the longest time this was a secret about my existence in the world that only I knew; I didn’t know how to speak about it until it was explained to me by a close friend similarly afflicted with this particular synesthesia.  This is my state of being: the still point from which I compose, play and improvise.  I invite listeners to relate to whatever shapes and textures inform their own perceptions, to listen with their body whole, inside and out, still, in motion, perfect."

At the still point of the turning world. Neither flesh nor fleshless;

Neither from nor towards; at the still point, there the dance is,
