Table & Chairs

A Project of Table & Chairs in Seattle, WA

Racer Session #562 | Lori Goldston w/ Chris Icasiano | Sunday April 2nd, 2023 at 7pm

Greetings, fans of the avant!

We’re coming up on our final guest curation of the season, this one hosted by our longtime pal and Racer Sessions co-founder Chris Icasiano! Chris has invited Seattle-based musician, the incredible Lori Goldston, to present the evening’s set, where she will be joined by Chris in duo formation. If you’ve seen the two of them perform together before, you know it’s not to be missed. If you haven’t, you simply can’t miss it!

Lori Goldston is a cellist and composer from Seattle. Her work moves easily and recklessly across borders. Her voice on cello is deeply textured and original, drawing on a restless curiosity and a long history of collaborations with bands, orchestras, composers, film makers, writers, and choreographers. She has released recordings on Sub Rosa, Mississippi Records, SofaBurn, Broken Clover, Woodland Fauna, Substrata, Sub Pop, K, Eiderdown, Obscure & Terrible, Dasa Tapes, Ed Banger and No Sun.

“Hi folks. Chris here.

Tonight I’m interested in witnessing a collaboration between two distinct and unique musical voices. Nothing too precious, academic or intellectual. Just a melding of artistic visions for a moment in time.

The reality of my life at the moment is that I don’t have much artistic capacity to operate outside of what feels natural, intuitive and joyful. Listening to and playing with Lori brings me much joy and I can’t wait to share the moment with her and you. I encourage you all to come with that energy.”
