Racer Session #295 | Ivan Arteaga / Improvisation is for Everyone! | October 18, 2015
This Sunday, Ivan Arteaga will be hosting the first Improvisation is for Everyone! workshop before the Racer Sessions at 6:30 pm. Improvisation is for Everyone! is a new monthly workshop where you can learn the fundamental skills of instrumental improvisation. This class is geared specifically for beginning improvisers, musicians, and non-musicians - anyone who is curious about improvisation. This will be a nurturing, and creative space for people of all ages, ability levels, and disciplines to collaborate and learn about collective improvisation. Of course, participants are more than welcome to use their new skills to participate in Racer Sessions!
After the workshop, Ivan will start the Racer Sessions off leading groups of improvisers in a series of exercises and games inspired by John Zorns Cobra. These games will hopefully give attendees ideas and experiences useful for developing their own unique improvising voice.
