Spontaneous Rex - September 21, 2014
Local experimental jazz/avant-rock band Spontaneous Rex played two compositions which merged free improvisation and through-composed music in different complementary ways. After their set, they answered a couple questions and encouraged people to consider their ideas during the ensuing jam session. For a more thorough description of these ideas, you can read their complete blog post.
Spontaneous Rex is Jake Sele (keyboards), Matt Williams (e. guitar), Nick Lonien (e. bass), and Joe Eck (drums). They played two songs, “Come at the King” and “Anya”.
