Bryan Smith - September 14, 2014

Local saxophonist and composer Bryan Smith brought a live incarnation of his recent recording project to the Racer Sessions. The RE: Project was originally created by overdubbing improvised layers of solo alto saxophone on top of each other. Bryanhas since transcribed particular tracks and arranged them for an alto saxophone ensemble. For the performance, he was joined by fellow alto saxophonists Art Brown, Ivan Arteaga, Jeremy Shaskus, and Peter Daniel.

For the rest of the night, Bryan suggested musicians consider blend and uniformity of tone quality, something he has achieved with The RE: Project.
